Who We Are

OPES Health Systems is a health technology company built for the hospitals, clinics, and health institutions of Cameroon and the CEMAC region.

We exist because we believe that the quality of healthcare a patient receives should not depend on whether their hospital has the administrative and information infrastructure to deliver it well. We believe that every hospital director in Central Africa deserves real-time visibility into their facility's performance. That every patient deserves to have their history available, accurately, at every visit. That every clinician deserves to prescribe with confidence that they know the patient's complete medication history. That every pharmacist deserves to know they will not run out of essential medicines before the next order arrives.

We built OPES Health Systems to make these things possible — for facilities of every size, in every city and region of Cameroon, and across the CEMAC region.

What We Built and Why It Is Different

Most hospital management software used in Africa was built for another continent and adapted — imperfectly and expensively — for the African context. It assumes reliable electricity and internet. It bills in dollars and euros. It handles insurance systems that do not exist in Cameroon. Its support team is in a different time zone, speaking a different language.

OPES Health Systems was built differently.

We started with the question: what do health facilities in Cameroon and Central Africa actually need? We spent time in hospitals in Douala and Yaoundé, in clinics in Bafoussam and Bamenda, talking to the nurses and billing clerks and pharmacists and hospital directors who actually run these facilities.

What we found is this: Cameroonian health facilities need software that works when the internet goes out. That bills in XAF, with CNPS compatibility built in — not as an afterthought. That speaks French and English from the first screen. That can be supported by a team reachable during Cameroonian business hours, in French and English, who can be on site when something goes wrong.

We built all of that.

The OPES Platform: What It Does

The OPES Health Systems platform is a comprehensive, integrated hospital management system covering the full range of health facility operations.

Patient Management

Every patient has a single, unified digital record — accessible from any authorised workstation in the facility, instantly, without the delays and failures of a paper file system. Patient registration takes under three minutes for new patients. Returning patients are identified in seconds.

The patient record includes demographic information, insurance details, complete medical history, current medications, documented allergies, all previous consultation notes, all investigation results, and the full billing and payment history. No more partial pictures. No more missing history.

Appointment Scheduling

Patients can book appointments via WhatsApp, online, or by telephone through a receptionist. Automated reminders go out 24 hours and 2 hours before each appointment, via SMS or WhatsApp. No-show rates fall by 40–60%. Morning queues become manageable.

Clinician schedules are managed in the system — no double-booking, no phantom appointments, no confusion about who is seeing which patient when.

Clinical Records and Prescribing

Clinicians record consultation findings in structured digital notes — organized by chief complaint, history, examination, assessment, and plan. Diagnoses are coded. Prescriptions are entered digitally and transmitted instantly to the pharmacy module, with automatic drug interaction checking and allergy alerts.

Every prescription is part of the patient's complete medication history, visible at every future consultation.

Pharmacy and Inventory Management

Every dispensing event is recorded against the patient record and inventory database simultaneously. Stock levels update in real time. Reorder alerts fire automatically when stock reaches the defined minimum. FEFO is enforced digitally. Expiry alerts fire at 90, 60, and 30 days before expiry dates.

Stockouts become exceptions rather than routine. Expired medicine waste falls by 70–90%.

Billing and Revenue Cycle

Every service recorded in any clinical module is automatically added to the patient's running invoice. Billing is complete when clinical care is complete. CNPS claims are generated automatically in the correct format. Insurance submission is tracked. Rejected claims are flagged for rapid correction.

Revenue leakage falls from a typical 20–25% to under 3%.

Management Dashboard

Hospital directors see real-time performance data across the entire facility: patient volumes, revenue, outstanding receivables, pharmacy stock levels, staff utilisation, and clinical indicators — all on a single dashboard, updated continuously.

Management decisions are made with data, not intuition.

DHIS2 Reporting

Data is exportable in DHIS2-compatible formats for national health information system reporting, making compliance with government reporting requirements automatic.

What Makes OPES Different

Built for Cameroon. Not adapted from another market. Built from scratch with Cameroonian realities as the design brief.

Offline-first architecture. The system operates from local storage when internet is unavailable. Connectivity is never a single point of failure.

Genuinely bilingual. Full French and English across every screen, every label, every document, every error message. Per-user language selection. Support documentation and training in both languages.

CNPS-compatible billing. Not "we can configure it to work with CNPS" — built in, working, and deployed in Cameroonian facilities.

XAF denomination. All pricing, billing, and reporting in Central African CFA francs. No currency risk. No conversion complexity.

CEMAC-region data hosting. Patient data from Cameroonian facilities stays in the CEMAC region. Data sovereignty is a design principle, not an option.

Local support team. We have people in Cameroon. French and English. Reachable during Cameroonian business hours. Able to be on site when needed.

Transparent pricing. One clear monthly or annual subscription. No hidden fees, no per-user escalation, no charges for features that should be included.

Who We Serve

OPES Health Systems serves health facilities across the spectrum:

Private hospitals and specialist clinics in Douala and Yaoundé seeking to improve billing accuracy, reduce wait times, and give management real-time operational visibility.

Medium-sized private clinics in secondary cities seeking an affordable, locally supported HMS that can transform their operations without enterprise-level costs.

District hospitals and public health facilities seeking DHIS2-compatible reporting, CNPS billing capability, and digital patient records to improve care coordination and access.

Multi-site facility networks seeking centralised patient records accessible across all sites, with consolidated management reporting.

We serve facilities from 5 consultation rooms to 200+ beds. We have implemented in facilities seeing 30 patients per day and facilities seeing 500. Our pricing is calibrated to facility size, making OPES accessible at every scale.

Our Mission

We believe that quality healthcare depends on quality information management — and that every health facility in Cameroon and the CEMAC region deserves the tools to manage information well, regardless of size or location.

Our mission is to make world-class health information management accessible to every health facility in Central Africa — in a form that fits the local context, at a price that makes business sense, with support that is genuinely there when needed.

We measure success not in software licenses but in facilities that bill more accurately, in patients who wait less, in pharmacies that stay stocked, and in hospital directors who make better decisions with better data.

This is what we do. This is why we exist. And we are just getting started.
